In these paintings I want to address humanity’s shared internal terrain through color and composition in order to bring the viewer into an ambiguous space. The paintings contain shifting aspects of both foreground and background depending on one’s point of view.
I intend that they be visually disorienting since they are addressing the question that Gauguin asked so long ago. Where do we come from? What are we? Where are we going?
